“The phenomenon of workplace bullying is little understood and is usually ignored. It is usually written off as mere personality conflict, profiling, or prejudice. Few people recognize how abuse proliferates throughout an organization and there are unconscious norms that quiet observers.”

Author Reputation Press is honored to release “Understanding Workplace Bullying” by Linda S. Mata. This masterpiece discusses “workplace bullying,” which is a serious epidemic. The impact of this phenomenon affects all workers, from the shop floor to the boardroom (Middleton-May & Zawodskin, 2002). The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.
Dr. Linda Mata has compiled several collections of creative materials written by herself and other amateur writers. She developed an interest in poetry writing at a very young age and was awarded a certificate for her poem, “Song of the Courageous Pioneer,” a poem written to commemorate “Pioneer Day,” while attending middle school.
The author continued to feel the urge to write but did not pursue a writing career. Her writing aspirations were revived by her daughter Christiana’s interest in writing poems and short stories, also at a very young age. Christiana has been a recipient of several youth awards for her writings and has appeared on local television and in the local newspaper.
The author is especially proud to have had the opportunity to present the poem of her late father, entitled “Opportunities.” She feels he possessed a remarkable gift that was probably only realized by those closest to him. She is also proud to have written two poems in tribute to American poet James Langston Hughes, one hundred years after the year of his birth. He is a writer whom the author deeply admires.
“Understanding Workplace Bullying” is about workplace bullying. Workplace bullying is a serious problem in workplaces today. It can cause serious health problems, lower self-esteem, damage interpersonal relationships, or end a person’s career.
There are insufficient laws and means by which one can seek remedy for this phenomenon. It is important that victims and co-workers first recognize the signs of workplace bullying in order to keep it from escalating. If the victims understand what is happening, they will be able to develop a coping mechanism that will help eliminate bullying from the workplace and help the victims protect themselves from its harmful effects.
