“You ask me only to be your friend, a friend, and I see it now:
I have never understood what I’ve had to offer you,
you’ve seldom asked, the you who’s given me so much,
so selfless, timing perfect in its edgy way”
– an excerpt from the book
Author Reputation Press is honored to announce the release of “You” by Vane Lashua. This is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.
Vane Lashua worked in their family’s pint shop as he grew up led to his career, first in education and then in publishing and dramatic technology development—with R.R. Donneley, Readers Digest, and Sothebys over 50 years. While working at Columbia University for five years “at the turn of the century,” he became fascinated with geothermal energy sites.
He also mentioned that for the past 50-some years he have been threatening to write a book. He have written poetry, political essays, letters-to-the-editor, and stories about his life.
He is currently involved in several community organizations (Library, Park, Arts, Downtown, Bird Sanctuary) in his hometown, where he moved five years ago from New York. He lives there with his fiancée, whom he re-met at their 50th high school reunion. They enjoyed Europe, China, and US travels together.
“You” is a collection of poems on every theme of life. These are the masterpieces Vane wrote. Originally, he wanted the title to be “Accidental Tourist,” but he found that there is a play and movie by that title. Because he has often found live events and directions somewhat random, it came to him as a good description.
Literature mirrors the life of a person. These masterpieces reflect the experiences the author had in his life. Some pieces give us a sense of nostalgia for things from the past. The beauty of writing poems is that you also challenge your reader to unravel the real meaning of the piece.
