“I was left alone to fend for myself much of the time after that. And I had no idea where my grandmother was and there wasn’t anyone to check in on me. Just me and my mother and she was not around much.”

Author Reputation Press is honored to publish “An Obscure Life: Things I never wanted to talk about” by Robert Forge. This masterpiece recounts the life of the author. The stories are real and not some figment of his imagination. This book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.
Robert Forge, the author, shares that “the real reason for this burst of remembrances is for my family to really know who I was and who I had become, especially my grandchildren. I know they are being brought up right and will be people of good character one day as they are being raised to high moral standards. Thank God, they will not have to follow my path and life of hard knocks because of their mother and father. I love them all. And my wife of almost 40 years is the best grandmother there is.”
Robert Forge was shipped by bus from the recruiting office one day to the Navy shipyard in Philadelphia, sworn in with many others, and made some friends right off. After that, they were brought to a train station and put on sleeper cars for the long trip to Chicago.
Once there, they were put on a bus to the Great Lakes Naval Training Facility, just north of Chicago. Upon arrival, there was their company commander waiting for them, and they piled out like a bunch of misfits.
By writing “An Obscure Life: Things I never wanted to talk about,” he has created a therapeutic tool for himself to step back and reflect on the struggles and triumphs in his life and, ultimately, overcome and deal with the bad within.
