“Letters from Prison” by Nomenia Bradley Dilday is now available for purchase

“Going to prison anytime is hard but going to prison you didn’t do is terrible. I know I am blessed to be on work release, but I have lost so much. My dad is dead, and my mom is all alone. I have missed being with her for all this time—why? God please help me; you said you would never forsake me. I was incarcerated 30 months. As time neared for my release, I could see what God had planned for me.”

Author Reputation Press is honored to publish “Letters from Prison” by Nomenia Bradley Dilday. This masterpiece contains the letters the author’s son wrote to her and her family while he was in prison. This book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.

Nomenia Bradley Dilday was born in Arkansas and has lived there most of her life. She always loved to write. She took writing classes in college and private lessons later in life. After college, she became a teacher. She taught for years until she learned about Montessori. She decided to get certified and began teaching there.

When she retired, she became a nanny for two autistic children. Worked in their home for eight years. Children are her life. She retired again and moved to Texas to help her daughter raise her children. That’s where she lives now. She spends her time taking care of her grandchildren and writing.

“Letters from Prison” is a collection of letters from the son who’s in prison. Things started when the son was out of state on a fishing trip when a friend broke into his house and set up a meth lab. When he returned home and started cooking, his friend heard a loud bang on the door and a loud voice shouting. “This is the police, open the door!” He opened the door and they shouted, “Stand back! We need to search your house!”

The door to the back bedroom was locked. They cut the lock and found several fans running. All the evidence was gone, but the smell was still there. The author’s son was arrested and taken to jail. Nomenia saw his picture and the story on the evening news. She went to his house the next morning, and the police were everywhere. She asks, “What is going on?” He answered, “We found a meth lab in the bedroom.” I said, “Why was my son arrested? He didn’t do it, he was out of state for weeks, fishing!”

The police wanted Nomenia’s son to narc for them. If he didn’t, they wouldn’t take him to court. He narced for two years. He almost got killed and spent lots of money trying to make a drug bust. He did not make a bust.

They had to hire a lawyer and go to court. When the judge asks, “How do you plead?” Nomenia’s son answered, “Your honor, I’m not going to plead guilty to something that I did not do, nor knew nothing about. I am guilty of trying to help the guy after his family kicked him out. I let him spend a few nights at my house while I was on my trip”.

He was sentenced to 10 years for maintaining a drug house. He was sent to prison. He was put on work release. He was a master of electrion so he started making good money. He has his own apartment at the prison. He said it wasn’t so bad; just missing family and friends was the worst punishment. He saved enough money to buy a trucking company while working after he was released. He served two and a half of the 10 years. When he got out, he said, “Thank you God! If I haven’t went to prison, I would never have saved enough money to buy my own business”.

Nomenia Bradley Dilday loves her son so much that’s why she’s sharing this story and the letters he wrote for her every day for those two and a half years.
