Every year, everyone has been waiting for the great news. And now, the results for the Eric Hoffer Book Award have been released.

Nadenia Buntin’s “The Big Game,” published by Author Reputation Press, participated in the 2023 Eric Hoffer Book Award.

The Eric Hoffer Book Award commemorates the memory of the famous American philosopher Eric Hoffer by honoring outstanding writing and the independent spirit of small publishers. Since its foundation, Hoffer has grown to become one of the most prestigious worldwide book awards for small, academic, and independent presses.

The Eric Hoffer Book Award committee has completed its judging process for another year. Each person who participated and submitted their entry is appreciated. Thank you for your support. The award is facilitated by The Eric Hoffer Project, dedicated to maintaining Hoffer’s work and legacy.

This heartwarming patronage has helped make the Eric Hoffer Book Award one of the world’s premium independent book awards. Every book was carefully read and evaluated. Being part of this is such an honor and privilege for many.

Kat Kennedy of the US Review of Books acclaimed “The Big Game” by Nadenia Buntin and highlighted, “Most of the action comes in descriptive passages concerning Josh’s little league team. Josh is a great role model for young adult and middle school readers. His sense of integrity is an endearing character trait. And even though Josh breaks a promise to his father, he still tries to do the right thing no matter how painful. Josh owns up to his father about his bad decision, and he is shocked by his dad’s reaction, “I’m proud of you for trying to do the right thing. I’m sorry Mr. Willingham would not listen to you.” Josh’s father also displays a sense of integrity and empathy. With its likable moral characters, exciting descriptions of baseball games, and a redeeming ending, this book should be an enjoyable read for older kids especially but also for readers of all ages.”

Author Nadenia Buntin grew up in Arlington, Texas, where she was born. In 1980, she relocated to Mississippi. Her undergraduate and master’s studies in education were completed at Delta State University. She has been a teacher for fifteen years. Five grandchildren and two grown daughters come to Mrs. Buntin.
