This book was praised by Mihir Shah of the US Review of Book, to wit,
“Block’s narrative has a poetic feel as it ruminates over a myriad of topics, with each section a talking point to help Jesus envision the snapshot of his recollections. Whether Block is talking about his abject ineptitude with computers or having a full-grown skunk as a pet, he holds nothing back, allowing Jesus (and the reader) an opportunity to see both his good qualities and imperfections. In particular, the author’s memories of his father as a soldier in World War II as a part of the Thunderbolt division of Patton’s Third Army are riveting. Block has a knack for capturing the essence of an individual through an anecdote, and the interaction he describes between the courageous and resolute nature of his father and the cowardice of a captain is glaring.”
