“You Would Be Paranoid Too If This Happened to You: U.S. Destructive Practices” by Dr. Tyrone Waters, D.D., Drs. was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023 at the University of Southern California on April 22-23, 2023. This book is about tackling depression and other mental illnesses caused by societal discrimination.

The much-anticipated annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023 was held on April 22–23, 2023. It was attended by nearly 500 authors and hundreds of exhibitors. The festival was launched to connect individuals who read books with those who write them. The range of book genres exhibited at the festival captivated readers of all ages. Dr. Tyrone Waters was born on January 9, 1966, at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon. His father was a retired US Army captain, and his mother is a former Oregon State Senator and a professor in Portland State University’s Black Studies Department.

He grew up living with his mother and grandparents, as well as his father on occasion. His parents divorced when he was still a baby. In 1997, his father died due to lung cancer. He attended Irvington Elementary School. He attended Fernwood Middle School in the 1980s and Benson Polytechnic High School in the 1980s, all in Portland, Oregon, where he was raised.

He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of the Persian Gulf conflict of the 1980s. He served and had the pleasure of being around the U.S.S.  Ranger with the first African American commanding officer, Captain Walter David of an aircraft carrier.
