Yu-Shiaw Chen, Ph.D., obtained her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Mount Sinai School of Medicine at New York City. She worked as a research scientist at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Brookhaven National Laboratories, Stony Brook University, and biotechnology companies for 20 years. She realized the importance of nutrition and its impact on people’s health and wellbeing when she was working as a pharmaceutical consultant. She then began her career as a nutrition counselor and educator.
