People of Distinction is one of the most extensive and wide-ranging radio shows in the United States. Hosted by Benji Cole and Al Cole from CBS Radio, People of Distinction is the right fit for authors who want to increase their exposure to readers. The radio program airs on Apple’s iTunes Radio Network (Professional News/Talk), featuring CBS Radio, Fox News, NPR, and C-Span.
Jack Worrill was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After he graduated from Georgia Tech, he spent thirty-five years in the Direct Mail Advertising and Printing business, before discovering his skills as a Chair Caning and Furniture Restoration Craftsman. In addition to these professional credentials, Jack spent twenty years as a bi-vocational Minister of Music in several churches in the Metro Atlanta area.
Jack has three married daughters, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Following the passing of his wife Lyn in 2010, Jack responded to what he calls a “Holy Nudge,” and in 2012 married Joyce Smith who was also widowed in 2010. Joyce is the mother of two married sons, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Jack and Joyce currently live in Knoxville, Tennessee.
“Parables for the Purposeful Walk” follows in the tradition of the author’s first two books, “Parables for Plain People” and “More Parables for Plain People,” offering brief devotional messages for daily encouragement and inspiration.
Jack worked, raised a family, participated in numerous ministries, and experienced the events and news items that inspired his works. Jack’s ministry prospects have grown since 2012, with medical and evangelistic trips to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Myanmar, and Brazil, as well as various local mission initiatives.
Each of these personal experiences has added a new perspective to the concept of walking the Purposeful Walk and contributed to the enrichment of Jack’s observations of the working of God in the everyday lives of those with whom he has come in contact.
The result is a collection of pieces written to draw readers’ attention to the presence of God in each day’s events, whether personal, local, or global. The author hopes that these stories will bring encouragement, direction, and inspiration to everyone who walks through life with a purpose.
