A professional book trailer for “Orange Fanta” by Charles Elin is now available
Author Reputation Press is proud to announce the release of the professional book trailer for “Orange Fanta” by Charles Elin. This book is about life and the complexities of reaching our soul’s core through the simplest form of language.
Many of us are having a hard time in dealing with the voices inside our heads which greatly affects our overall behavior and emotions. Dealing with those invasive and undesirable ideas that poison our minds and are, most of the time, difficult to cope with is the worst experience. Through the soothing words in this book, may all readers find comfort, serenity, and understanding in their thoughts.
“Orange Fanta” has no theme greater or less than life, as it’s given. Charles Elin uses language in its most simplistic to present the complexities of reaching beyond ourselves and questioning where that is. He finds a place for humor and utter disbelief in the politics of the day. These short poems just touch a phenomenology of our everyday, in the words of common banter, miscommunications and private thoughts.
Charles Elin worked with the late writer/editor, Larry Fagin, from January 2023 until his death in 2017. Larry published a chapbook of his poems and stories in 2014. Then added two later stories to Larry’s 2016 magazine, The Delineator. Flash fiction pieces have been published by Columbia Journal, Corium Magazine and Midway Charles’ poems have appeared in over a dozen literary journals, including Rosebud, Forge, Mantis. By profession, he is a psychiatric social worker in private practice.
Charles Elin shares that he would visit Larry Fagin biweekly in the hospice. Larry’s face brightened up on one of his last visits, and he requested an Orange Fanta from Charles. The title poem is inspired by this final encounter and Larry’s passionate, often delirious, celebration of his life. It’s a poem that goes through time without stopping, much like Larry.
Larry Fagin is the author of several poetry collections, including Complete Fragments (Cuneiform Press, 2012); I’ll Be Seeing You: Poems 1962–1976 (Full Court Press, 1978); Rhymes of a Jerk (Kulchur Foundation, 1974); and Parade of the Caterpillars (Angel Hair Books, 1968).
