“Freedom: A Call to Healing” by J. Panton is now available for purchase

“At that point, I’d seen things like this on TV— innocent black people being profiled by law enforcement—but I never thought it would happen to me. As we were getting out of the car to enter the bowling alley, suddenly, my friends and I were pushed against a car by four undercover white police officers. We were all illegally searched by the officers and asked questions like: Do you have drugs on you?…”

Author Reputation Press is honored to publish “Freedom: A Call to Healing” by J. Panton. This masterpiece speaks to the fact that if we don’t obtain the healing we need as a people, it’s like building a house on a cracked foundation. We are bound at some point to collapse, and we are never truly free to tap into our full potential as human beings. The Bible says it this way: You cannot pour new wine into old wineskins, and by the grace of God, we have made it this far. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.

In 2012, the Lord impressed upon J. Panton the need to pray for the African American community. He felt the need to pray against the spirit of oppression that was being felt by the people. The shedding of innocent blood in the streets, the issue of mental illness, the increased numbers of those incarcerated, and the injustices in the school system of the United States of America sent him to his knees.

On the night of March 1, 2014, the author had an encounter with the Lord. That night, for the first time, he understood how the prophet Isaiah felt when the Lord called, and he said, “I will go, send me” (Isaiah 6:8). “I, too, said to the Lord, send me. Even if I do not know or understand it all, I will submit myself to your will. ” It was at that moment that the Lord gave him the inspiration and revelation to write this book for African Americans who feel forgotten and left out of God’s plan for humanity.

This is a call to the African-American community to come back to our loving Father for the healing we so desperately need. This is the only way for us to be healed and become our best selves in Him.

“Freedom: A Call to Healing” revisits the history of America. Other human beings seem to get the empathy to mourn and build memorials after a trauma occurs in their lives—except the black race. We had a trauma in the Western Hemisphere that lasted over four hundred years.

Yet, after slavery and segregation, our people were expected to pick up the pieces of life and move on. We were expected to live in self-denial as if the scars we were carrying had never happened. The statistics are heartbreaking.

One in three black males can expect to spend time in prison. One in one hundred black women is in prison. The high school graduation rate for black males is under fifty percent. Fifty-four percent of black children are raised by single mothers. These tragedies have not occurred by chance.

Thus, Jason Panton points out that the most important component is hope. This is the hope of redemption offered by a loving and merciful God. He is not a God who visits with us for a few hours on Sunday morning, nor is he a God to be called upon only in times of distress. He is a God who eagerly awaits a personal and constant relationship with every individual.

The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ has a tender heart for the oppressed, the despised, the brokenhearted, the hopeless, and the outcast, and His heart is unchangeable.

“Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even unto the sure mercies of David” (Is 55:3).

As you read this book, the author prays that you will come to understand that for us to receive the total freedoms we seek, we must first deal with the battleground in our minds. To have victory and become all God has called us to be, we must first understand how to break the bondage of our thoughts and minds.

We do this by knowing our true worth and the purpose for which we were created. Our worth is not determined by our situation, it is not given through material possessions, and it is not determined by people; our worth comes from God, the One who created us with His purpose in mind.
