Dr. Vernon Carrigan, the author of “A Life Story of Heritage and Faith,” was interviewed by CBS Radio’s Benji Cole. The interview in the program People of Distinction is about the discussion of the message of the book as well as the author’s purpose for writing this masterpiece.
People of Distinction is one of the most wide-ranging radio shows in the United States, hosted by Benji Cole and Al Cole from CBS Radio. People of Distinction is the right fit for authors and readers to discover newly published books, mostly written by passionate and independent authors.
Benji Cole, the host of the program, is a world-class interviewer, video formulator, Los Angeles actor, and filmmaker. He’s shared the acting stage with superstar Tom Hanks.
The author, Dr. Vernon Carrigan, is now a retired internal medicine physician who worked for 40 years as a physician and healthcare administrator in his hometown of Clarksville, TN. He became a Christian at age 13 and practiced Christian principles in his life and practice. He has been married twice, the second time after a tragic accident claimed the life of his first wife and has had two sons, the older of whom has also passed.
In retirement, he has enjoyed frequent international travel, including medical mission trips, reading, writing, golfing, photography, bridge, and spending time with his grandson.
Dr. Carrigan was also the founder of Bethany House in Clarksville, which was a faith-based restorative program on his farm for drug-addicted women.
The author’s books are “A Life Story of Heritage and Faith” and “God’s Purpose in Creation”. Both are published and are available in online bookstores.
“A Life Story of Heritage and Faith” is a book of his life experiences of rural upbringing and as an internal medicine physician over a 40-year career. It is centered around his relationships with God and man: family, friends, patients, community, and his heritage and faith, through serial personal tragedies and in working with others in the joys, trials, and challenges of life.
Join him as he chronicles his humble beginnings through education and ministering to patients, friends, employees, and many others. Let’s get started in 1955 on our farm on the day and occasion of his first remembrances and self-awareness.
In “God’s Purpose in Creation,” the author sets forth a theological explanation based on God’s ultimate plan and perfect will for his church and his permissive will at work in our lives today. The author has clearly made his case for the fact that God’s purpose for the Cosmos is to have a viable relationship with every person on Earth.
