Author AL Hall is a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the historical Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. Hall and his wife, Lottie, live in Alexandria and have two adult sons, Tazh and Djawa, in Tallahassee, FL. He is a graduate of Jackson University (MS) and Western New Mexico University. His previous books are There’s Nothing Going Wrong With Your Head and It’s Trimmed in White Color Make Any Difference To You. His poetry has been reviewed in Voices of Color/Shades of TruthBlack Collegian, and Njema magazines, and the Cincinnati Herald newspaper. Hall has done readings in various regions of the country and at the executive office of the president of the United States.

He has been interested in poetry since childhood, when he enjoyed listening to his parents read nursery rhymes. His mother usually recited a few rhyming lines as a part of counseling or disciplining him and his siblings. The author believes this early beginning that sparked his interest in poetry enables him to write about daily life situations as they occur among people and in places around him.

“Poetic Healing: That Unforgettable Tuesday Morning” is likely to capture the attention of readers from all walks of life and various generations because of the material the author covers in the book and the way he presents it. Hall gives a vivid account of the images seen by people throughout the world on September 11, 2001.

In a calm and soothing way, he pours from his own soul the thoughts and feelings that were on the minds of so many people after the surprise attack on the United States of America. Lives and possessions were lost, but many of the poems in this collection seem to highlight the glimmer of hope that remains to sustain us in our determination to keep trusting in God and to live in harmony with other human beings.
