“Miss Manhattan” by Biman Roy is displayed at the 2023 New York Library Association (NYLA)
“NYLA leads, educates, and advocates for the advancement of the New York library community.”
– New York Library Association (NYLA)
The New York Library Association, popularly called NYLA, was founded in 1890 at the close of the annual convocation of the University of the State of New York. NYLA has always been devoted to the promotion of the library interests of the entire state. It has, to its credit, contributed to a notable system of modern libraries throughout the state.
NYLA is affiliated with the American Library Association as the New York Chapter of that national body. Members of the state association include librarians of public, system, school, college, and university libraries, many special libraries, library trustees, and friends of libraries. From a membership of 43 in 1890, the association has grown to a vital organization of several thousand members, representing not only the libraries of New York State but also many members, state and institutional, from all over the United States.

Author Reputation Press’ published book, written by Biman Roy, was displayed at the 2023 New York Library Association (NYLA) from November 1–4, 2023. The publisher and author of the book are honored and proud to be part of this book exhibit.
“Miss Manhattan” by Biman Roy was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023 at the University of Southern California on April 22–23, 2023. It is the country’s biggest metropolitan daily newspaper, with more than 40 million unique latimes.com visitors monthly, a Sunday print readership of 1.6 million, and a combined print and online local weekly viewership of 4.4 million. The Pulitzer Prize-winning Times has been covering Southern California for more than 140 years.
This masterpiece is commended by Jonah Meyer of the US Review of Books, who underscores that “…like the painting of an accomplished Expressionist, the poet’s words, images, vignettes, and nuanced creative expression are employed in service to a literary celebration of the great northeastern American city.”
“Miss Manhattan” truly captures the richness of diversity and the simultaneity of life happening in New York. The text is rich, tumbling, and layered, yet never chaotic, as the sensations of people, cars, birds, flowers, and all forms of city life cascade around the speaker’s (and reader’s) attention.
