The author of the book, William Aiello, is a retired letter carrier who moved on to other challenges and activities once he was no longer working. Since retirement, he has had two books published: a short story and numerous poems. He is working on a third book.

William is also co-executive director of the Miss Five Boroughs and Miss Queens Scholarship programs, two preliminary pageants in the Miss America System. He is a ventriloquist, and his acts are on Facebook.

Together, they begin a relationship. All made possible by a lost dog.
