“Annabelle’s Baby” by Ann Capozzoli is now available for purchase

“Knowing all of this now, why do I cry when I tell the story of my first child? Why does it still hurt when the ending is a happy one?”

AR Press is honored to publish “Annabelle’s Baby” by Ann Capozzoli. The author sends a message of appreciation that goes, “To Russell Thorpe, my beloved husband, without whose gentle coaxing these pages would never have seen the light of day.” The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARPress website.
Author Ann Capozzoli, formerly known as Annabelle, lives with her husband, three dogs, and a Quaker parrot in Kingston, New York. Her current project is a collection of related stories told from the point of view of a young girl named Annabelle. Stories from that collection have appeared in several literary magazines as well as Ann’s Salon.com blog.
Writing satisfies a hunger in her. Like a household cleanser, writing “Annabelle’s Baby” has miraculously worked to dissolve the emotional grease and grime she has carried with her since her teenage years.
This masterpiece follows the story of seventeen-year-old Annabelle, who is going to have a baby with a boy who wants no part of it, or her. Unwed and pregnant—the worst catastrophe to befall a middle-class, Catholic girl in the 1960’s. Desperate to hide their daughter’s condition from friends and neighbors, her parents send her to live with strangers.
When Annabelle gives birth to a boy, her father, a man who has sired three girls but yearns for a son, decides that he and his wife will raise the child as their own. He forces Annabelle to pretend to be the baby’s sister.
