“Josh and the Skeleton: Christmas Eve Discovery” is a story about Josh and his dog, Flash, as they go on an adventure into the Cheyenne grounds on a snowy Oklahoma Christmas Eve. One night, Flash runs away, and Josh must confront all his biggest fears.

This thrilling narrative was highly praised by Mark Heisey of the US Review of Books, acknowledging that “Ashworth really shines in nailing the appropriate tone and vocabulary for the upper elementary/lower middle-grade readers he targets. This book should be a great addition to the libraries found in those schools, and it would be a good gift to give to those who enjoy outdoor adventures. It is particularly well-suited to the reluctant male reader who steers clear of lengthy reads.”

In addition to the masterpiece’s recognition, this book was also nominated for the 2023 Eric Hoffer Book Award. The said book award commemorates the memory of the famous American philosopher Eric Hoffer by honoring the outstanding writing and independent spirit of small publishers.

Moreover, “Josh And The Skeleton: Christmas Eve Discovery” by Skip Ashworth reached worldwide audiences by participating in two famous book fairs.

First, it was among the books displayed during the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) 2023 at the University of Southern California on April 22–23, 2023. LATFOB is one of the most-awaited book fairs in the United States, attended by nearly 500 authors and hundreds of exhibitors.

Lastly, the book was also displayed during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023 in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 18–22, 2023. The said book fair, reportedly known as the world’s largest trade fair for books, opened its doors to participants around the globe, celebrating books and their authors.
