A book trailer for “Murder At The House Of Funerals: A Tracy Brubaker Mystery” by John Carter Stell is now available

Author Reputation Press is glad to announce the release of the book trailer for “Murder At The House Of Funerals: A Tracy Brubaker Mystery” by John Carter Stell.

Author John Carter Stell grew up in the TV era of horror hosts and character cops. Eventually, he began conceiving his own mystery stories inspired by the likes of Columbo and Perry Mason. Amateur sleuth Tracy Brubaker originated in the late 1989 or early 1990s and, during the next 25 years, solved many crimes only in the imagination of the author.

But in 2014, Stell started writing the Tracy stories in novel form. To date, he has written 20 Tracy Brubaker mystery novels, of which the first two were published in 2016 and 2017. The third is due in 2018. He is currently working on a book documenting the history of Maryland area horror hosts from 1957 to 1987. By day, he is a practicing certified public accountant. He currently lives in Columbia, Maryland, with his wife and five children.

Murder At The House Of Funerals: A Tracy Brubaker Mystery” presents the story of Attorney Tracy Brubaker Shane, who is excited to meet her childhood hero, who will be returning to the small screen—live!

Former horror host Richard George, aka Dr. Mort Itchin, comes out of retirement to again present a classic horror film from his House of Funerals, and Tracy will be in the studio audience. She even manages to be invited to rehearsals. But soon after her arrival behind the scenes, she realizes everyone is not wallowing in happy nostalgia.

The thorn on everyone’s side is Carl Jeffries, who once-upon-a-time played Dr. Mort’s sidekick, Nagging Skeleton. Jeffries daughter, Megan Wallace, is producing the program. But there’s no love lost between father and child. The show’s director is in love with Megan and isn’t too pleased with the friction Jeffries is causing. Other crew members have their own reasons for despising Jeffries.

When the violence finally erupts in the most appropriate, if grisly, fashion, Tracy is right there to begin her investigation, especially when her hero is charged with the crime. Not surprisingly, she discovers multiple possible motives, including buried secrets, sheer hatred, and old-fashioned showmanship.

But can Tracy find the truth in time so the show can go on?

It’s another Tracy Brubaker mystery filled with tricks, treats, and surprises. Happy Halloween!
