“My Life Story” by Marcia Nicks is now available for purchase

AR Press is honored to publish “My Life Story” by Marcia Nicks. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARPress website.

The purpose of writing this book is to encourage others. No matter how dark life seems, our Father in Heaven and Maker has given you the strength to make it through. For “…God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9”

The author, Marcia Nicks, was born on October 5th, 1950. She is the fifth child of my father’s, but the oldest child of Palo Elliott and Mary Frances Yarbrough-Elliott. There were two more siblings born of this union. She had an additional ten siblings, who were born from the union of Palo Elliott and his third wife, Alice Burrage-Elliott.

She was reared in Indianapolis, Indiana, and went to public school #38. She attended Arsenal Technical High School and graduated in June of 1968. Shortly after graduation, she gave her life to the Lord and was baptized with the Holy Spirit.

In August of 1969, she was married to Howard A. Mimms, and to that union she gave birth to nine children. She devoted herself to marriage, rearing her children, and serving the Lord in many capacities of the church she attended. After her children had all received their education and were exploring their careers and goals, she decided to further her education and seek a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

She always wanted to be a Certified Public Accountant. She did not quite make that goal; however, she did receive a degree. After many years of desiring to become an author, she was finally encouraged by her late husband, Comadore Nicks, to explore the options, and she can confirm that she has become an author. She is now working on her second book, and she hopes it will inspire others to take a leap of faith and make their dream come true.

This book is an autobiography that depicts her life as a child who lost her mother at the tender age of three. It will show the good and bad of how she did or did not cope with many situations. She had many insecurities that captivated her progress in becoming the truly successful individual that she should and could have become. But for the grace of God, she is who she is today.
