“A Trip to the Moon” by Geeta Pati is now available for purchase
““Look at the moon,” he continued, pointing overhead. “This bright and lovely moon shines on us too. While humans sleep, the silvery moon shines on our animal kingdom, lighting our paths and making our lives easier. We have as much right to pay a visit to the moon as men do. Can you think of anything more humiliating than having humans get to our moon before we do? They think they can be the first to succeed at everything! Well, what do you think, my friends? Who should be the first to set foot on the moon? Them: the humans, or us: the animals?””

AR Press is honored to publish “A Trip to the Moon” by Geeta Pati. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARPress website.
Geeta Pati is a children’s science writer. She has published several books in India and the US. She strongly believes in teaching science to children and young adults through interesting and humorous stories and illustrations.
Geeta raised four children along with her husband, Dr. Jogesh Pati, a physics professor at the University of Maryland who is currently continuing his research at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in the San Francisco Bay Area. Geeta’s books are the culmination of her life-long experience of telling stories about everything from space science to Indian culture to children.
Geeta received a graduate degree in psychology prior to immigrating to the United States. She was a volunteer teacher at an elementary school in Maryland, helping children with reading and math. Since then, she has been devoted to the education of children in the physical and biological sciences. Proceeds from the sales of her books are donated to the Adruta Children’s Home in her home state of Odisha, India.
Her latest publication, “A Trip to the Moon,” is an updated children’s science book about a charming group of animals who want to beat humans to the Moon. On the way, they learn about physics as it relates to space travel. This updated edition has been endorsed by leading scientists and, more importantly, by her five grandchildren. The story is fictional, but the science is accurate and up to date. This beautifully illustrated book is a wonderful educational tool for children ages 8 and up.
“A Trip to the Moon” is the story of the Apollo 11 moon mission, described through an interesting story of animals. In the story, a rabbit, a crow, and a fish, along with a wise old owl, travel to the Moon and learn all the scientific facts about the moon through their exciting, fun-filled adventures. From my experience as a mother and teacher, I found most children avoid reading pure science books on their own because they appear monotonous to them. Children love stories. So, I have combined science with an interesting story of animals so that the children will enjoy reading the story and simultaneously learn science.
The next book in the series, “A Cosmic Voyage,” will be available soon. In this story, the animals continue with more adventures and learn about the universe and its contents. They travel billions of years back in time, witness the Big Bang and the creation of matter, visit a nebula, see a supernova explosion, get caught by a black hole, and learn many scientific facts about these entities.
