Hollywood Movie Script Coverage for “Living the Family Dream” by Al Brinkworth has been released for the book’s qualification for a Hollywood screen adaptation

ARP’s Movie Script Coverage Service aims to provide a written outline of the author’s book—a screenplay—that will be stored in a database that major studios can consult when seeking stories to adapt into films. Recently, a Hollywood-style script was released for Living the Family Dream” by Al Brinkworth. The narrative holds substantial promise for adaptation into a feature film with its unique setting, rich thematic material, and potential for visually engaging storytelling. By strengthening the dramatic structure, deepening character interactions, and maximizing the visual and thematic elements, the film could not only captivate audiences but also stand out in the market for its originality and emotional depth.

In the journey from adapting a novel into a movie screenplay, there are essential intermediate steps that pave the way for success. One such critical step is the transition from coverage, which provides an initial analysis of the source material, to the film treatment.

This transition is not only a natural progression but also serves as a pivotal moment in the adaptation process. Once coverage is complete and the decision to proceed with an adaptation is made, the next logical step is the creation of the film treatment. A treatment is a detailed document that outlines how the source material will be translated into a screenplay. It serves as a bridge between the novel and the final script, providing a roadmap for the adaptation process. The film treatment is the crucial intermediary step that takes the adaptation from the conceptual phase to the concrete phase of writing the screenplay.

The screenplay is the common ground on which producers, directors, actors, and production teams working on the movie will collaborate from start to finish, and it serves as a roadmap for them in terms of what will be seen on the big screen. The production of the Movie Script coverage is to prepare for the screenplay to be produced.

A talented model builder navigates the highs and lows of a family-run business, crafting intricate models for the racing world and beyond, as he balances legacy, innovation, and personal loss across decades of dramatic change in both his professional and family life.

Author Al Brinkworth was born in the mid-30s in the North of England, just before WWII, and left school with a secondary modern education at age 15 to work in the family’s home-based scale model building business.

He grew up in Salford with his older sister and brother, loved model building for as long as he can remember, and has a passion for WWII aircraft and British steam trains. He worked for Bassett-Lowke Model Engineers in Manchester and London before serving 3 years with the Royal Air Force. He immigrated to Canada with his family in the late ’60s, re-establishing the Brinkworth Model Building business in Vancouver, BC.

Now, very happily retired in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, with his wife Elza and two sons, Barry and Bill. Still building models, but mostly for his own personal pleasure.

Al Brinkworth was about 12 years old in 1946 when the “Brinkworth Family’s” home-based, kitchen table model business was founded by his parents, where wooden, hand-built model railway buildings were designed and constructed for the world-famous Bassett-Lowke Ltd. retail store in Manchester, England.

This story chronicles the author’s early wartime years in the UK and later, working in his father’s business. It covers his family’s immigration to Canada and later, the re-establishing of the family model-building business here in British Columbia in 1966. It records the progress as he follows their family dreams as a self-employed model builder, describing the many architectural, engineering, and marine modeling projects during the years prior to 1991.

At that point in time, the direction of Brinkworth Models took a dramatic turn, as they were propelled unexpectedly into the colorful world of Motorsports.

The next 26 memorable years of business, involving his wife and two sons, could only be described as a “rollercoaster” and are recorded in great detail, both in words and images, in “Living the Family Dream,” The Brinkworth Models Story.

The book contains 320-8.5 x 11 pages with more than 245 inserts and images, the majority of them full-page color plates showing in detail all the various models that have been produced by the Brinkworth family during our 70 years of business.

The last 26 years have concentrated on the association with the motor-racing teams and features every hand-built “Limited Edition” build of automotive models we produced. At the end of the book is a comprehensive index, listing who they were built for, how many were produced, and when.

“Living the Family Dream” is an evocative narrative that charts the journey of a family deeply embedded in the fabric of model buildings, set against the dynamic backdrop of the motorsport world from the mid-1990s onward. The Brinkworth family, led by an aging patriarch whose traditional craftsmanship principles guide the business, confronts the challenges of a rapidly changing industry, marked by technological advances and shifts in consumer expectations.

The narrative surrounding the world of model building and racing offers a unique and intriguing glimpse into a specialized hobby that blends artistry with competition.
