CBS Radio’s Benji Cole interviews Donna F. Honafius, author of “King Joey and His Friends”

Donna F. Honafius, author of “King Joey and His Friends,” was interviewed by CBS Radio’s host, Benji Cole. The interview in the People of Distinction program is about discussing the message of the book as well as the author’s purpose for writing this masterpiece.

People of Distinction is one of the most wide-ranging radio shows in the United States, hosted by Benji Cole and Al Cole from CBS Radio. People of Distinction is the right fit for authors and readers to discover newly published books, mostly written by passionate and independent authors.

Benji Cole, the host of the program, is a world-class interviewer, video formulator, Los Angeles actor, and filmmaker. He’s shared the acting stage with superstar Tom Hanks.

Author Donna Honafius was born in the small town of Republic Kansas in her grandparent’s home. Her early years were spent in seven different homes in Kansas and Arkansas before settling in the big city of Wichita. This is a picture that her father took when she was a little girl. He loved to take pictures of his children.

She learned to count by counting the laundry on the clothesline. Not that she was good at math until high school, but she fondly remembers a picture of her mother holding a hammer over her head trying to aid in her struggles in the 5th grade to learn the multiplication tables—pretending to pound them into her head.

She loves to read, cook, sew, and do crafts. She has a thirst for knowledge because, as a little child, as soon as she finished reading one book, she was ready to move on to the next one. In 1965, she earned her first degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration with two majors, and at the age of 65, she earned two associate degrees in early childhood education.

She has two children; the youngest was born in England, where her husband was stationed at RAF Alconbury. Her grandchildren include five born to her daughters and several stepchildren. And then there are great-grandchildren—a total of 10 or more. Donna loves to write and tell stories and will continue to do so as long as she can, and there are children who enjoy them. It is an exciting process to create something for children to enjoy.

“King Joey and His Friends” will give the children a lesson about teamwork and always being there to offer help whenever someone is in need. There are no barriers that cannot be overcome through cooperation and teamwork. The book also contains activities such as vocabulary, coloring pages, and drawing pages. Children will love this book as it contains not just an inspirational story but also fun-filled activities that they will surely learn from and enjoy.

The wonderful illustrations will also catch the interest of the children while reading the book. Creativity will be developed since there are pages in the book where the child is asked to create their own drawing and color the provided images.

This masterpiece unfolds the story of Joey helping to put out the fire at the Big Blue Bird’s home. The book contains activities such as vocabulary, coloring pages, and drawing pages. This book will surely provide the children with a lesson about teamwork and unity.
