“I look into those once beautiful eyes and all I now see is rage. I don’t know this man. This man who has me in fear for my very own safety. I’m terrified. I want to back up another step, trying somehow to escape before he decides to strike, predator against prey.”

Rodney Thompson’s compelling book, “For Troubled Black Girls, Who Sometimes Cry”, is now published by Author Reputation Press. This book contains controversial issues that are very relevant to the present time. A thought-provoking yet inspiring narrative, “For Troubled Black Girls, Who Sometimes Cry”, is now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.

In life, sometimes what ruins us is what we cherish the most. Love is something that feels good but is destructive at the same time. The more you embrace it, the more you won’t notice that it’s killing you.

The book “For Troubled Black Girls, Who Sometimes Cry” shows the story of a woman who will do everything in the name of love. Maya Baxter is a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a lover who sees herself as a weak woman. She is the opposite of her sister, Tanesha, who is a strong and tough woman in the narrative. They are partners in crime through thick and thin, despite what other people say—that they aren’t sisters because they have different skin colors. They lived in a small town in Tylerville, South Carolina, where people’s main form of entertainment is talking about other people’s lives. They care more about others than themselves.

Their lives changed when Jaime, the guy Maya fell in love with, came into the picture. He’s good to her and showed her the love she’s been searching for, although that kind of love won’t last and was not strong enough to fight for what’s good for them. Everyone was poisoned by Jaime and Maya’s relationship. It kills what shouldn’t be killed. It destroys the most important things. However, Maya was the one who was affected the most.
