Author Spotlight: H. Allenger, author of Polyxena
H. Allenger spent seven years as an officer in the U.S. Army and 31 years with the Seattle School District. In 2008, he went into full retirement and pursued his passions in archaeology, art, history, mythology, and writing, leading to the publication of his mythology-inspired novel “Polyxena.”
Allenger graduated from Eastern Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and also earned his Master of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas while stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, courtesy of its overseas extension program.
He grew up in Montana and graduated from high school in Spokane, Washington. At present, Allenger lives in Seattle, Washington, and enjoys traveling around the world.
His action-adventure book recently received positive reviews from two major book review publications including the US Review of Books and the Hollywood Book Reviews. Polyxena tells the adventure of its eponymous heroine who, facing death after rejecting the advances of her captor after the fall of Troy, is sent to Amazon for assistance. Polyxena, daughter of King Priam, relates her thoughts to Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess she holds responsible for having orchestrated her fate, to find solace and overcome her fear of death.
