“The Poppies on the Hill” by Ted Landkammer has been positively reviewed by the US Review of Books

The US Review of Books has commended Ted Landkammer’s children’s book The Poppies on the Hill. The site’s review praises for the joy and smile it leaves on the readers’ face.

The book tells the story of Mrs. Brannigan and the children, Sarah and her brother Joey, who took care of her. Granny Brannigan used to give chocolate cookies to all the boys and girls including Sarah and her friends who pass by her front gate. But one day, Mrs. Brannigan is not by her gate for the first time due to sickness. The children then take care of her.

According to book critic Jonah Meyer, it is a “wonderful picture book to share with young children. Among the many lessons of character and caring that are shared is the notion of checking up on and taking care of our elderly neighbors”.

The review also praises the author for his work: “Landkammer’s gentle and sweet book might also help young readers who are experiencing the death of a grandparent or loved one.”
