H. Allenger’s “Polyxena” focuses on the theme of free will versus fate

H. Allenger incorporates the same age-old moral dilemmas into his story as Homer did to The Iliad.
His book Polyxena focuses on the theme of free will versus fate. However, the book does not explicitly depict the protagonist’s fate. Instead, it allows the readers to determine if Polyxena’s tragedy was forged by the gods or by her own intentions.
Allenger doesn’t try to guide her decisions by imposing modern principles. As a woman of Troy, her Trojan nature is reflected in the way she thinks and acts.
Polyxena tells the tale of the daughter of King Priam of Troy. Polyxena chronicles her account of the events that lead up to the demise of Troy.
