Benji Cole of CBS Radio interviews Edmund A. Wise Jr., the author of the book, “The Faithful and the Damned: Demon of the Swamp”

CBS Radio’s Benji Cole got to know the humble author of the book, The Faithful and the Damned: Demon of the Swamp, Edmund A. Wise Jr. They discuss the message of the book and the inspiration that fueled the author to pursue a writing career.

Edmund A. Wise Jr. has been teaching English for 22 years at Brockton High School in Massachusetts. The author is a clinical psychologist with a master’s degree. He shares his home with his wife and two sons. He experimented with art and explored and gained skills in sales and finance. Simply put, he has a diverse range of life experiences. However, writing books (becoming an author) has always been a passion of his since he was a child. Stephen King is one of his sources of inspiration. That he began reading King’s books in high school and understood that the author made a living as an author.

In The Faithful and the Damned: Demon of the Swamp, which depicts the story of an old prophecy coming true, the succubus demon princess Atrakithis is released from her bottled captivity. She forces Jacob Farmouth’s father, William, to mate with her and then murders him before burying her progeny in the Hockamock Swamp to drain the swamp of all life and gather enough power to unleash the Underworld’s forces upon the earth.

As a result, the residents of Clearmont, Massachusetts, are thrust into a nightmare in which children disappear into the marsh, serial killers roam the night, and mythological entities may hold the secret to restoring order. These supernatural terrors make each of the characters reconsider their religious beliefs, relationships with loved ones, and what they value most.
