CBS Radio’s Benji Cole interviews Alda Stephens, author of “The Men of Genesis,” a book that details strength and perseverance

The author of the book, “The Men of Genesis,” was interviewed by CBS Radio. People of Distinction host Benji Cole got to know the author and learned about her inspirations for writing the book.

Alda Stephens is a grandmother as well as a mother. She’s an industrial engineer. She enjoys helping others, as her experiences have taught her. That means empowering not only individuals but also businesses. She has an MBA and is now pursuing her second. The author is a research analyst who reads and researches extensively before writing articles. She’s currently working on two more books, driven by a desire to promote education, reading, and the importance of knowing the truth with others.

With so much happening in the world today, there has never been a better time for young teenagers and young adults to discover, perhaps for the first time or simply to be reminded of, the stories found in the book of Genesis. “The Men of Genesis” immerses the young reader in the lives of men whose faith in the Lord saw them through a variety of trials, some of which were inconceivable.

These were men who believed in God, wanted to fulfill His laws, and were willing to make significant sacrifices for His glory rather than for the satisfaction or acceptance of their fellowmen. They have a lot to teach us. “The Men of Genesis” was created to introduce young readers to God’s handiwork during the first six days of the earth’s creation. They will learn about God’s blessings on Noah, a man who believed in God and obeyed Him. And it was his religion that kept him and his family alive.

Following Noah’s story are those of Abraham and God’s covenant with him; Abraham’s son Isaac and his wife Rebecca and their struggles with favoritism; the conflict between brothers Jacob and Esau; and the beautiful story of Joseph, who triumphed over his brothers nearly two thousand years before the birth of Jesus Christ, who would also triumph over the betrayal of His own people.

As the reader flips the pages, they will be reminded of God’s great love for His people and His desire to establish a relationship with those who really seek Him, both yesterday and now. This book is a novel about our forefathers’ bravery and tenacity, as well as the first glimpse of a truly loving God.
