This recipe book is written for health-conscious people who are too busy to make homemade meals or for people who are looking for new ideas to eat healthier. Yu-Shiaw Chen, Ph.D., CN was born in Taiwan. She came to America for advanced study. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She has worked as a research scientist for various organizations, including Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Brookhaven National Laboratories. After realizing the importance of nutrition and its impact on health, she transitioned into a certified nutritionist and nutrition educator.

Dr. Chen designed the 12-week program, Healthy Weight for Life, to help people lose weight and reduce aches, pains, disorders, and dependency on drugs. She published her first book, Healthy Eating Wholesome Living, in 2011, in both English and Chinese. She has been hosting the Holistic Nutrition Seminar in Stony Brook, New York annually since 2013, which includes her lectures on overcoming health challenges with nutritional therapies, along with her homemade plant-based luncheon. In 2018, she released the video Optimizing Your Nutrition online.

Currently residing in Northern California with her daughter’s family, Dr. Chen enjoys plant-based meal-making. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, counseling, and networking.
