“The Simplified Short Bible: A Short Chronological Summary of the Old and New Testaments” by Peter J. Bylsma is displayed at the 2022 Frankfurt International Book Fair

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the biggest book fair in the world, both in terms of the number of publishing houses present and the number of professional and general public attendees. It is regarded as the most significant book fair in the world for worldwide business and trading.
The Frankfurt Trade Fair Grounds in Frankfurt, Germany hosts the five-day yearly event in the middle of October. A popular exhibit in the USA Pavilion, the New Title Showcase receives significant pre- and post-fair publicity.
The first three days of the fair are exclusively for professional visitors, including agents, publishers, distributors, librarians, teachers, and film production companies, with the general public attending the fair on the last two days.
The Combined Book Exhibit New Title Showcase is part of the large USA Pavilion and attracts thousands of people to the booth.
Dr. Peter Bylsma, the author of “The Simplified Short Bible: A Short Chronological Summary of the Old and New Testaments,” has condensed all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments into 24 short, easy-to-read chapters that convey the Bible’s epic narrative, characters, and core themes. This simplified version of The Short Bible is for people who are at least 10 years old and those with a limited amount of time. It’s formatted like a modern book and contains a pronunciation guide as well as historical and geographical information to help put the events in context.
Dr. Bylsma (Pete) spent ten years working in various Christian organizations, then worked for 30 years in public service positions at the international, federal, state, and local levels. As a data scientist and program analyst, he conducted impartial and non-partisan research on a variety of themes and summarized the issues and findings for busy leaders. He has written numerous reports and publications on public policy and organizational success in a variety of fields.
He got a master’s degree in public administration and a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from the University of Washington (Seattle), in addition to a magna cum laude BA in psychology from Wheaton College (IL). He has lived in seven states as well as in the Netherlands, Korea, Malaysia, and Germany. He now resides in Washington state’s Puget Sound region.
“The Simplified Short Bible: A Short Chronological Summary of the Old and New Testaments” by Peter J. Bylsma is for those who are already familiar with the Bible, those who wish to better appreciate its broad concepts, and those who simply want to learn about the Bible’s wonderful stories and ideas.
