“Head Smashed In” by W. Fred Bowen is now available for purchase

“Mike watched his father walk away and smiled. He looked so serious in a funny sort of way, walking with his hands in the pockets of his jacket and his head tilted forward, eyes on the ground. The slow, shuffling steps made him look like a man lost in deep thought.”

Author Reputation Press is honored to publish “Head Smashed In” by W. Fred Bowen, which is a short work of fiction. It is not intended to be a definition for the naming of the area where it takes place. Instead, it is a reminder to the author of the many years he spent living in the Province of Alberta and exploring its many interesting and exciting historic and prehistoric locations. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.

W. Fred Bowen is a retired educator who lives part-time in Canada and Switzerland. Since he was very young, while growing up in Montana, one of his many interests has been the prehistory of the aboriginal peoples of the prairies. He has been fascinated by the artifacts left behind by these people and curious about how they were able to exist in such a harsh and difficult world.

“Head Smashed In”, written predominantly for younger readers, is his first story about that world. Combining his arrowhead collecting hobby with his knowledge based on years of research, Mr. Bowen has created an entertaining and thought-provoking story of North America’s earliest inhabitants.
