“The gas was like a warming blanket over our world. A person could not see it, but just a little of the invisible gas trapped the heat from sunlight and kept the atmosphere warm. It is true that we needed the gas, called carbon dioxide, to keep us warm and from getting too cold. Without it, we would all be freezing. But too much carbon dioxide is like too many blankets.”

Charlie’s parents have given him a supercomputer for the company, and Charlie and the supercomputer have become pals. As Charlie wonders aloud if anything can be done to mitigate the dangerous weather, his supercomputer pal, Supermax, suggests going back in time to when his great-great-grandfather, Potus, was President of the United States and in a position to change the climate for the world and improve the weather.
