The much-anticipated annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2023 was held on April 22–23, 2023. It was attended by nearly 500 authors and hundreds of exhibitors. The festival was launched to connect individuals who read books with those who write them. The range of book genres exhibited at the festival captivated readers of all ages. Huichuan Chen is a veteran gambler from Taipei. She shared that she lost at least $200,000.00 between 1999 and 2013 at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun when she watched her friend play a card game called 21 in his cousin’s house on Chinese New Year’s Eve of 1976 in Taipei.
She wasn’t interested in gambling, unlike her family, until the summer of 1999, when her co-workers and a few of her friends took her to Foxwoods. She then found a job as a dealer at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. She is a mother of three boys, and her children grew up with her winnings from the casino.
“The Secret of Blackjack” by Huichuan Chen explains why and how blackjack players can’t win on the blackjack card game table at a casino. This book enables readers to know the depths of the actual game and how it should be played.
