“Sins of a Mulatto Outcast” by Robert Fouche’ is now available for purchase

“Well, I disagree. I do not want to remember how I grew up because some things in my past bring back some painful memories. Growing up in the circumstances of my youth has left me wounded. Looking different forced me into a shell as a youth.”

Author Reputation Press is honored to publish “Sins of a Mulatto Outcast” by Robert Fouche’. In this masterpiece, the author hopes that the readers will see that prejudices do not only exist between two different races. All races have their own internal preconceptions in some form or another. A person should be defined by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. The book is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and the ARP website.

The author, Robert Fouche’, was experiencing a midlife crisis while approaching forty. He realized the midpoint of life is not fifty years of age, but right now. He discovered he hadn’t really fulfilled the life he truly wanted, been to places he wanted to visit, or done the things that really mattered with his wife. He’s existing. He’s not living. It seemed like everything he was doing was not rewarding.

The everyday stress of corporate America, along with being a father, was beginning to devour Robert’s spirit. His marriage was failing, and he was not sure why. He was becoming inept socially because he felt like a failure. He decided to break himself down to find the root cause of his unhappiness instead of blaming others.

He drifted away from the principles he learned from his relatives and the people who influenced him most growing up. He began to take inventory of his life, and a storyline developed as he began to note events from his past.

“Sins of a Mulatto Outcast: An 18-Hole Wayward Identity Quest (2nd Edition Round 1)” is a combination of fiction and details from the author’s childhood that he felt and held onto for too long. The main character is a mirror image of him and the struggles he suffered growing up as a high-yellow youth in a predominantly urban environment. He was always aware of his ethnicity growing up, but it was hard to get others to realize and understand.

“Sins of a Mulatto Outcast: An 18-Hole Wayward Identity Quest (2nd Edition Round 1)” presents Homer, who grows up knowing he looks different than most kids in his neighborhood. Although both his parents are African Americans, his appearance more closely resembles that of a Caucasian.

As he struggles to fit in with others of his African American race, Homer faces prejudice and bullying by those who brand him “the white kid,” until he decides to fight back, transforming himself and his attitude forever.

On his wayward journey to remove himself from his surroundings, Homer feels his looks are a curse, which sets off a series of horrific events that test all his emotions. To others, it seems as though Homer has been given all the keys to unlock the American Dream.

Unfortunately, they are unaware of his sins as a youth. As Homer relives his experiences, joys, and challenges through the metaphorical structure of eighteen holes of golf, he shines a light on his determined quest to overcome his outcast label, accept his mixed heritage, seek forgiveness, and—more importantly—love himself.

This masterpiece tells the compelling tale of one man’s struggles to embrace his uniqueness in order to achieve happiness in life.
