“Expression of Honor” by George Richardson and Ramona Vallee was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023 in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 18–22, 2023.
This is a story of love, deceit, war, hatred, jealousy, and the fight for freedom. It is about the battle for the freedom of slaves in the United States of America between the North and South. It also narrates Frank and Juliette’s loss as children and how they must embark on journeys that take them away from their families in search of their beliefs. The story exposes the greed of politicians, the inhumane treatment of slaves, the wickedness that some humans can possess, and the mysterious ways one can find love.
The Frankfurter Buchmesse, reportedly known as the world’s largest trade fair for books, opened its doors to participants around the globe celebrating books and their authors. The massive book fair also celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. Slovenia, their guest of honor this year, presented itself as a nation with a rich literary history in addition to being a desirable tourism destination.
It is the best platform for publishers and authors to engage with international audiences and share stories. This year, over 105,000 trade visitors from 130 countries and 110,000 audiences participated in this big event. This year attracted more visitors compared to last year when there were 93,000 trade visitors and 87,000 audiences. Over 2,600 activities were covered by more than 7,000 media professionals during the five days of the exhibition.
Author Reputation Press is dedicated to promoting literary connections between authors and readers. In line with this, ARP displayed several of its remarkable books at the largest book trade fair in the world. The book gallery was even more alluring because of the large variety of genres on exhibit.
The author, George Richardson, was born in 1920 to William and Ruby Richardson on a farm in Indiana. Together with his three younger brothers, he toiled diligently as he grew up on his father’s farm, where he also grew close to his grandfather, Homer Richardson. Homer would recount experiences he had as a drummer boy during the Western Campaign of the American Civil War, led by General Ulysses S. Grant. All of Homer’s grandfathers, uncles, and father fought in the Civil War. Alexander (grandfather), one of his uncles, Ed, and his father, James Bailey Richardson, were all cavalrymen stationed at Fort Donelson.
George enlisted in the American Army during World War II after being motivated by his grandfather’s recollections. His company was pursuing German General Rommel, also known as “The Desert Fox,” while he was stationed in North Africa. He had the distinction of working on President Roosevelt’s jet at the Yalta Conference and seeing Stalin, Churchill, and Roosevelt all in one place. He was a crew chief, overseeing aviation maintenance after being promoted to Staff Sergeant.
He married Eleanor Morgensen following the war. They had three kids together. Eleanor pushed George to create a book about Homer’s stories because she was aware of how much he valued them. In order to fill in any gaps, George conducted research on the American Civil War. It would combine imaginary characters with true events from Homer’s stories.
George was diagnosed with two acute forms of leukemia in 1976. He encouraged his daughter, Ramona, to revise it while he lay dying. At the age of 56, he passed away.

“Expression of Honor” is a Civil War romantic narrative. Juliette, a French woman, fell in love with a visiting Southern officer who had to leave for the United States before her. She later leaves on a blockade run. All of the disclosures, difficulties, and risks provide her with the courage and bravery to face each circumstance. After a decade of dealing with border ruffians and the carnage caused by pro-slavery against anti-slavery, Frank identifies as a Kansan.
In addition, the political struggle over the Kansas-Nebraska Act bred a bloody Kansas. Frank had had enough. He was prepared to fight in the Civil War as a Lieutenant Colonel under General Ulysses S. Grant.
