“SOS: Save Our Seas” by Renate Schalk Schreiner was displayed at the 2023 Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) – Book Gallery

“SOS: Save Our Seas” by Renate Schalk Schreiner was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023 in Frankfurt, Germany, on October 18–22, 2023.

Humans are not the only living organisms on this planet. There are a lot of creatures living on Earth, such as animals and plants. The author of the book wanted to relay the message of taking care of our environment by not leaving trash anywhere. Maintaining the cleanliness of your surroundings is how you can contribute to lessening pollution on the planet we’re living on.

This book was acclaimed by the US Review of Books and highlighted, “As much as this book teaches children to be aware of the sea’s fragile environment, it also teaches them to be kind to and accepting of others. The book’s diverse cast of characters shows the importance of taking the time to learn about others, no matter how different others might be from oneself. Gorgeous, colorful illustrations bring these lessons to life. The carefully constructed rhyme schemes not only make the book fun to read aloud but can also be used to teach young readers the beauty of language and words. Thus, the book becomes a fun adventure for readers of all ages, particularly for those who love the sea and have a special place in their hearts for the ocean and its inhabitants.”

The Frankfurter Buchmesse, reportedly known as the world’s largest trade fair for books, opened its doors to participants around the globe, celebrating books and their authors. The massive book fair also celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. Slovenia, their guest of honor this year, presented itself as a nation with a rich literary history in addition to being a desirable tourism destination.

It is the best platform for publishers and authors to engage with international audiences and share stories. This year, over 105,000 trade visitors from 130 countries and 110,000 audiences participated in this big event. This year attracted more visitors compared to last year when there were 93,000 trade visitors and 87,000 audiences. Over 2,600 activities were covered by more than 7,000 media professionals during the five days of the exhibition.

Author Reputation Press is dedicated to promoting literary connections between authors and readers. In line with this, ARP displayed several of its remarkable books at the largest book trade fair in the world. The book gallery was even more alluring because of the large variety of genres on exhibit.

The author, Renate S. Schreiner, was born in Poland, and in 1945, her family moved to the west of Germany. She became a kindergarten teacher after she graduated. In 1964, she migrated to the United States and worked as a Montessori teacher in Wisconsin, where she worked for many years.

Through reading their stories, the author learned that one of the children’s favorite subjects is animals. She then later used that knowledge to create Olli stories, this time going into the ocean to introduce a new animal world to young readers. While learning about these creatures, they will be entertained with rhyming stories and wonderful pictures.

“SOS: Save Our Seas” is a children’s book that contains stories about Olli, his guppy pals, and more new friends to have fun with. There are starfish, jellyfish, a dolphin, and her baby, and even a bee. When Olli meets Dorado, he finds out that not everyone speaks the same language. One of their teacher’s great concerns is the trash humans leave behind at the beach, and they all want to do something about it. Find out their plan to solve that problem and how it can help keep the ocean clean. All creatures will be thankful.
