“Old Soldiers Never Die: The Legacy of W.A. Evans” by Marlene R. Evans-Askew is now available for purchase

Author Reputation Press is glad to announce the release of “Old Soldiers Never Die: The Legacy of W.A. Evans” by Marlene R. Evans-Askew. This is now available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other leading online bookstores.

Marlene R. Evans-Askew was born in Gainesville, Florida. She is the oldest daughter of the late Willis Evans Sr. and Corine Freeman. She was raised in a Christian home, knowing the fear and love of God. In 1961, she graduated with honors from Dunbar High School in Fort Myers Florida. She moved to Brooklyn, New York during this time, hoping to pursue a writing career, having left her hometown in the sunshine state with a dream of becoming a songwriter.

In 1967, Marlene reaffirmed her commitment to the Lord and started working as a recording secretary for Bishop Benny Shepherd of the St. John Apostolic Faith in Brooklyn, New York, all the while feeling the call to ministry.  Marlene was licensed as a missionary and appointed as the vice president of the missionary board.

“Old Soldiers Never Die: The Legacy of W.A. Evans” by Marlene R. Evans-Askew is a memoir for the late Rev. William Evans. He was born on August 22, 1884 and died on November 29, 1984. His dedicated life has left a profound impact on Marlene. Old soldiers don’t die; they just fade away in a poetic and prophetic way, to sum up Rev. William Evans’ life.

If Marlene were to sum up his life in a song, it would be ‘I’m A Soldier in the Army of the Lord.” It is an honor to be labeled a soldier in the Lord’s army. It’s an even greater honor if your journey lasts 100 years.
