“No Time for Glory: The Story of a Dismissed Legend” by D.M. Foy was displayed at the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) – Book Gallery

“No Time for Glory: The Story of a Dismissed Legend” by D.M. Foy was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) at the University of Southern California on April 20–21, 2024.

The LATFOB is considered to be one of the world’s most significant literary gatherings. It has been held every year since 1996 with the goal of bringing together the people who create books and the people who love to read them. It is attended by more than 550 authors, celebrities, storytellers, and hundreds of exhibitors.

The Los Angeles Times is the country’s biggest metropolitan daily newspaper, with more than 40 million unique latimes.com visitors monthly, a Sunday print readership of 1.6 million, and a combined print and online local weekly viewership of 4.4 million. The Pulitzer Prize-winning Times has been covering Southern California for more than 140 years.

Author Reputation Press once again showcased some of its amazing books in a wide selection of genres in this year’s LATFOB. This book gallery aims to connect readers and authors by exposing it at an event attended by audiences around the globe.

D. M. Foy was born and bred on Chicago’s southside during the Depression years. A typical youth educated, enlightened, employed, and like many of the era prematurely aged by the incertitude of the encroaching World War II.  This was a time replete with historical subterfuge.

The influence of a Manhattan social welfare worker of the times grew from mere curiosity into an obsession to unravel the mystic of the shadowy Harry Hopkins. The mystery and drama are unveiled in his first book… “No Time for Glory.”

“No Time for Glory: The Story of a Dismissed Legend” by D.M. Foy is an incredible story of a once obscure social welfare worker’s rise from a deathbed and subsequent catapult into a position of worldwide power and influence. It follows the story of Harry Hopkins who was an improbable hero living on borrowed time at the epicenter of world chaos during World War II.

By means of exceptional cunning, sustenance, valor, and patriotism, his achievements and services altered the course of history during the mid-twentieth century. His noble quest for the plight of the poor, the weak, and the hungry is surpassed only by a passion to defeat the tyrannical, daring to live only to die for altruistic causes of country and humanity.

These events of intrigue mined from archives of faded footnotes, when mended in chronological order and held to the light of a new era, reveal the tribulations of a forsaken legend.
