Author Spotlight: Rio Olesky, author of “A Manual For The Modern Mystic”
Rio Olesky weaves spirituality into real-world experiences with his book, A Manual For The Modern Mystic: How To Practice Being In The Presence Of God. This mind and spirituality book offers some practical tools for spiritual growth using consciousness development.
Rio earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in Humanities from San Francisco State University. He has been an astrologer since 1976 and a teacher of astrology for several years.
Aside from writing books, Rio also writes monthly columns for local and national publications. When he’s not writing, he gives lectures and makes guest appearances at radio and television programs.
He also holds Beginning Astrology classes at Santa Rosa Junior College and intermediate classes at New Horizons School, in Santa Rosa. Both classes started in the mid-70’s and have since been providing insightful lessons for students.
While Rio primarily offers lessons on spiritual topics, having been practicing Kriya Yoga for long since 1975, he also injects his experience of being a husband, father and grandfather into his readings.
Rio is also an accomplished didgeridoo player. He lives in Northern California.
