Antwyn Price talks historical fiction with Ric Bratton for This Week in America

Antwyn Price has made a guesting on Ric Bratton’s popular radio program This Week in America to talk about his historical novel Colonies In Ruins: Transformed By The Pacific War. The book is published by Author Reputation Press, alongside Price’s other work titled Paradise in Ruins.

Colonies In Ruins comprises a set of compelling short-stories about foreign colonies of the Asia-Pacific region—British Malaya, French Indochina, the Dutch East Indies, and the Philippine islands.

These colonies were made to produce massive wealth from mining and agriculture for their masters for a long time. However, their subjugation came to an end after the Japanese forces attacked these nations on December 8, 1941 following the devastation of the US Naval Base in Pearl Harbor.

Seeing as the Japanese occupation had been brutal and unjust, these colonies struggled to gain independence from colonization. Hard-won battles and negotiations finally gave rise to Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines as new republics in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
