Chance of Precipitation chronicles the story of Randy Albertson, who is ready for a transition after 22 years as a college coach, thanks to a new athletic director and a restless alumni organization. Randy’s best buddy, Adam Chadwick, owns a thriving auto dealership in another state, and he decides to follow in his footsteps, but not without the support of his family, as he soon discovers.
After a promising start, Adam suffers a series of misfortunes, and Randy is caught up in the whirlpool. Randy is the only one left to handle the lot when Adam is arrested and charged with fraud. Because of the negative publicity surrounding the allegations, as well as the recession, auto sales are significantly hampered, and Randy quickly loses everything, including his family. Randy ultimately tackles his difficulties after everything and everyone has vanished, and he battles to get back on his feet with the support of his closest friend, an old acquittance, and the hope of reuniting with his long-lost family.
