Samuel Amassah Djanie, author of “One Touch Nursing Calculations: Nursing Calculations Made Easy,” is interviewed by Benji Cole of CBS Radio. They explore the book’s message and the author’s purpose and inspiration for writing it.
Samuel Djanie is a medical nurse with 28 years of experience who took his medical exam at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. During his medical exam, he was not notified that there was a medical exam, so he was unable to prepare for the medical calculation formula, which is critical in taking the test. It inspired the author to write a book for his fellow nurses.
The author shares his own experience when he took his medical exam and how he struggled with it. This became his inspiration for creating a resource book that will surely help practicing nurses survive the test or even at their work.
The book he’d written, “One Touch Nursing Calculations: Nursing Calculations Made Easy,” is a resource narrative that is full of helpful formulas that have been simplified for easy understanding. The strategies are also listed in the book, which the author quotes as working every time.
Being a nurse isn’t an easy job as it is always hectic, and the job must be done with compassion, not just an obligation. Saving lives is what a hero does. They don’t need a cape to prove it.
