“An Adventure In Arizona” by Donna Wren Carson was among the books displayed by Author Reputation Press during the 2024 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (LATFOB) at the University of Southern California on April 20–21, 2024.
The LATFOB is considered to be one of the world’s most significant literary gatherings. It has been held every year since 1996 with the goal of bringing together the people who create books and the people who love to read them. It is attended by more than 550 authors, celebrities, storytellers, and hundreds of exhibitors.
The Los Angeles Times is the country’s biggest metropolitan daily newspaper, with more than 40 million unique latimes.com visitors monthly, a Sunday print readership of 1.6 million, and a combined print and online local weekly viewership of 4.4 million. The Pulitzer Prize-winning Times has been covering Southern California for more than 140 years.
Author Reputation Press once again showcased some of its amazing books in a wide selection of genres in this year’s LATFOB. This book gallery aims to connect readers and authors by exposing it at an event attended by audiences around the globe.
Donna Wren Carson was born and raised in Enfield, CT. After years of avid reading, she applied her skills to young adult mystery novels. After leaving the high-paced manufacturing industry, she turned her dedication to substitute teaching at her daughter’s elementary school. It fired her imagination to bring to children not only the love of a good mystery but also the laughter of the situations that young readers can relate to through the three main characters.
In “An Adventure In Arizona,” Leira and her new best friends Addy and Skye are thrilled when Leira’s mom, Mrs. MacGregor, invites them to Arizona to visit her sister for winter school vacation. Skye has never flown on an airplane, and Addy has never stayed at a hotel.
However, that is only the beginning of the adventure. In Arizona, the girls receive an invitation to spend three nights in the mountains camping with Leira’s eighteen-year-old cousin Luke, who is an eagle scout.
The adventure brought them into contact with Indian lore, reptiles, animals, and much more. However, the trip turns into a nightmare when the group confronts mysterious happenings and a tragic accident that finds them in mortal danger!
